Requisition Summary
Silicon Valley Innovation Center has an opening for an Advanced Mobility Tech Engineering Intern to add to our Silicon Valley team in Sunnyvale, California. This is a high-visibility and high-impact internship within PACCAR. Output from this internship will culminate in presentations to PACCAR senior leadership and be used to inform future product and business decisions. Because we are an innovation center, we are able to move quickly and try a lot of different approaches. In addition, we’ve built strong relationships with PACCAR groups around the world, which provides nice opportunities for collaboration and learning. If you are the right candidate, it would position you well to pursue highly technical roles specially in transportation industry.
Duration and Location
This internship is for 10- to 12-week, full-time, and exclusively in-person activity. Specific start and end dates are flexible. The internship will be at our Silicon Valley office in Sunnyvale, California.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
This position will be working on various projects and reports to include but not limited to:
- Develop proof of concept systems in cross-functional collaboration.
- Investigate new technologies and processes related to automotive industry.
- Document your designs and share learnings internally.
Skills
The skills that are important to be successful in this position are as follows:
- Good grasp of software skills and familiarity with machine learning concepts.
- Knowledge of enabling automotive technologies including sensors, computer vision, and signal processing.
- Interest in, passion for, or curiosity about trucks, automobiles, and technology.
- Self-starter who takes initiative and get things done with limited oversight.
- A collaborative attitude with a willingness to work in a small team environment.
- Willingness to grow personally and professionally while utilizing new engineering processes and techniques to be resourceful in solving complex technical problems.
Education
The candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in a degree in one of the following disciplines: Engineering (electrical, software, or mechanical), Computer Science, or a related program.

The salary range for our intern positions is as follows:
- Undergraduate Students: $25.00/Hour
- Graduate Students: $30.00/Hour
- Additionally, this role includes a 30% cost-of-living adjustment for California residency; this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
