Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic - Day - Montreal

Title: Apprentice Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic
Location: Kenworth Montreal (7500 Trans-Canada Highway, Saint-Laurent, QC H4T 1A5)
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 6:15 AM to 2:45 PM
Salary: $27.36 - $30.73 per hour, depending on experience

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Removal and installation of transmissions and differentials;
• Pre-Delivery Inspection (P.D.I) of new vehicles;
• Installation of accessories on new and used trucks;
• Minor electrical repairs;
• Replacement of seals on transmissions, differentials, and wheels (front and rear axles);
• Repair of the air system (minor issues);
• Repair of front axles;
• Removal and reinstallation of clutches;
• Oil changes, lubrication, preventive inspections A and B, as well as visual mechanical inspections;
• Adjustment of brakes and clutches;
• Programming engine parameters;
• Washing trucks and parts;
• Regular cleaning of the work area;
• Adherence to safety rules at all times;
• Moving vehicles as a substitute for the Service Attendant.

Qualifications:

• DEP or ASP diploma in heavy vehicle mechanics or equivalent 
• Proficiency in French and basic English:
• English competency level: basic reading and writing
  • Frequency: daily
  • Reason: to follow American manufacturer repair procedures
• Valid class 5 driver’s license
