Kenworth Truck Company is the manufacturer of The World’s Best® heavy and medium duty trucks. Job Summary

The Warranty Manager is one of three managers reporting to Kenworth’s Director of Warranty.  As part of the Warranty Management Team individual responsibilities include leading a diverse team focused on supporting the New Warranty System, the adjudication of warranty claims, and adherence to Kenworth’s warranty policies and procedures in compliance with all federal and state franchise laws.  Success in this position is dependent on continuous improvement leveraging new technology and data to drive results, working closely with peers across all divisions of PACCAR, and taking the initiative to make a difference. 


Here's what you will do in this role:

  • Manage the performance of your team including employee development.

  • Implement strategic initiatives to improve key performance metrics and processing efficiency.

  • Review claim information provided by dealers and, working independently or with Supplier Recovery, Engineering or Quality, approve claims per established guidelines.

  • Coordinate work assignments and workload balance as needed to meet department goals.

  • Exercise discretion and provide judgment on claim adjudication decisions.

  • Provide leadership and clear communication to your team

  • Provide best in class support to our Dealers and Fleet Customers.

  • Perform additional technical and administrative duties as assigned.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned responsibilities.

  • Work closely with external/internal stakeholders to understand business challenges and opportunities for improvement.

  • Adapt policies and procedures to changing regulatory requirements.

  • Work closely with managers and peers to establish best practices and consistency across the divisions.

  • Able to travel as needed (<10%)

  • Champion the continuous improvement of software tools such as the New Warranty System.



  • 4 year degree required.

  • 6+ year’s industry or related experience.

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.

  • Experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Tableau, and MS Access or similar tools; and have good recall of detail and a mechanical aptitude.

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders. 

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast paced just-in-time environment with rapidly changing objectives.

  • Must be able to accept responsibility for team performance and assigned projects.

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Warranty Management Team.

  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable with having responsibility for their team processing large volumes of data/warranty claims.

  • Previous Automotive or Industry experience in a management role is a plus.
