Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

Requisition Summary

This position works with multiple stakeholders and partners across PACCAR to analyze business requirements and execute the global voice and unified communications strategy and technology roadmap. Responsible for providing day-to-day administration, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support for an advanced voice system across all PACCAR.  Provides engineering support for the VoIP network infrastructure and Unified Communications services to include IP-based trunking, voice routing design, configuration, and unified messaging. Serves as an escalated Tier 3 resource for customer incidents and work orders for network services and voice network infrastructure devices. Provides cross-training and mentoring across Tier 1/2 engineering teams. Supports the engineering and project management teams by performing the voice communications aspects of small to large sized projects from inception to completion including technical assessments, design, planning, integration, testing, and implementation.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Support the development of the department’s technical vision and strategy for PACCAR’s voice infrastructure including Cisco Unified Communications, Enterprise SIP, and WAN/LAN Quality of Service
  • Support global strategies to implement new technologies based on developed vision.
  • Present new and emerging technologies to management through vendor presentations and/or personal experiences, which provide financial benefit or increase productivity.
  • Support and work with peers in cross-functional global teams.
  • Promotes cross functional training and development for voice engineers.
  • Contributes to the development of PACCAR network standards and publish RFCs as requested.
  • 3rd level support on PACCAR’s voice infrastructure and its peripheral equipment. Document VoIP incidents and resolution for future reference and automate to reduce support.
  • Implement automation to streamline all aspects of voice management including processes, provisioning, performance, and notification. 
  • Consult, configure, setup, functional test and verify business requirements are meet.
  • Troubleshoots hardware, software and configuration issues in support of the VoIP PBX infrastructure and associated interfaces.
  • Monitor and manage capacity of UC resources environments.
  • Assist in the development of a Unified Communications disaster recovery plan.
  • Documents and submits new content to the knowledge base.
  • Support on-call rotation staff in the facilitation of after hour work functions associated with upgrades, patches, and installations.
  • Build a positive working relationships with team members, managers & all departments.
  • Up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional voice technology experience at an enterprise setting; Must have experience on Cisco Routers, Structured Cabling, and LAN/WAN circuits; MPLS, enterprise SIP, PRI and POTS. 
  • Must possess in-depth experience in the design, configuration, long-term planning, operational support, and project management of large telecommunication systems and associated data networks.
  • Advanced experience supporting unified collaboration tooling preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cisco RBAC security and PBX account provisioning tools.
  • Experience with the Mitel phone system.
  • Experience with Cisco Direct Calling with MS Teams Unified Communications and softphone. 
  • Proven track record in the support of secure enterprise level networks. Strong knowledge of SIP, MGCP, H.323, SCCP.
  • Experience with IPSEC and SSL based VPN equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and Microsoft Azure DevOps environment recommended.
  • Understanding of current and emerging Unified Communications and VoIP technology in an enterprise setting.
  • Knowledge in security including authentication and encryption protocols.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) and strong analytical abilities.
  • Ability to exert influence, gain consensus and broker solutions between senior leaders and peers.
  • Cisco Certifications in cisco voice systems.  

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates competency.
