Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

The Role

The Solution Architect will be responsible for supporting efforts to manage, maintain and execute on PACCAR’s Global Aftersales Systems Roadmap. The Aftersales Roadmap is a set of technology related initiatives that will drive PACCAR to an industry leadership position for Parts, Service and related processes. They will work across PACCAR to gain alignment on Aftersales initiatives, coordinate requirements with business leaders and support efforts to define and estimate work. They will also lead the effort to define and design solution architectures to support the roadmap, including technology recommendations, vendor selections and process design. The Solution Architect will be part of a small team that reports to a Program Manager and includes a Business Analyst as well.  

Job Responsibilities

• Design solution approaches to support the goals and requirements of the Global Aftersales Roadmap.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the Trucking industry capabilities and competitive landscape for Aftersales.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies and partners who can support the Aftersales roadmap.
• Execute technology selection efforts in support of Aftersales initiatives.
• Support efforts to define, scope and estimate Aftersales projects for funding approval.
• Support a regular global steering committee of Aftersales leaders and periodic workshops.
• Leverage agile software practices to build project/product backlogs, estimate project size and funding required.

Required Experience & Skills

• 3-5 years of experience as a Solution Architect
• Broad base of technology experience including application development, integrations (API’s), cloud, and database.
• Experience building funding requests for large, complex technology projects.
• Experience supporting large, complex technology related initiatives in a global organization.
• Strong Leadership skills and critical problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership with the ability to function independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Experience working and supporting Aftersales (Parts/Service) in the automotive or heavy equipment industry desired.

Education

• Undergraduate degree in Business, Technology or related field required
• Master’s Degree in Technology desired

Physical Demands

• Sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
