Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

Requisition Summary

We are looking for a high-impact individual – the kind of contributor who is willing to get into the details and wants to make a big difference by providing best-in-class client software application readiness for PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD).  This team member will operate in the global client software application lifecycle, which includes licensing, asset management, application evaluation, and troubleshooting software products for compatibility in PACCAR’s desktop environment. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of software application incidents in the desktop environment to find root cause
  • Responsible for the development and execution of PACCAR’s IT Software Asset Management compliance program
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with software/hardware licenses and certifications, managing inventories, and monitoring effectiveness of the program
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a Software Asset Management system
  • Drive the software asset strategy and roadmap
  • Responsible for the development and execution of PACCAR’s IT Software Packaging Program and overseeing the contractors performing the work
  • Perform quality control, testing and evaluation of software packages/products
  • Obtain requirements from requestor to produce the desired software package
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the software application catalog in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Information Technology Division departments, and Legal staff in the selection process of new assets
  • Deploy and manage virtual desktops in a hosted environment
  • Ensure compliance with distribution of software applications and patches to the desktop environment
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement projects of various size and complexity
  • Make recommendations to the Desktop Architect to improve the desktop environment and serve in a backup role
  • Work and coordinate tasks in a global environment
  • Produce and update written technical, policy and support documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Over three years’ experience directly working in a Windows desktop technical role
  • Direct experience troubleshooting software application incidents
  • Direct experience with Software Asset Management
  • Direct experience with managing software licensing models
  • Experience creating software packages
  • Experience creating scripts utilizing scripting tools like Visual Basic or Powershell
  • Direct experience utilizing VMWare workstations or AWS Workspaces in a hosted environment
  • Experience recommending implementation of Group Policy Objects to manage client environment
  • Direct experience with Windows 7 or 10
  • Direct experience with Microsoft Office products, including Office 365
  • Direct experience performing quality control and testing of software applications
  • Direct experience working in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Success defining and implementing asset and IT compliance related strategies or processes
  • Knowledge of software distribution practices and licensing
  • Experience working with software vendors
  • Experience with planning, coordinating and implementing software and hardware projects
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills with strong foundational experience in process management, process improvement, and organizational change management
  • Understanding of software application best practices and security principles.
  • Must possess these skill sets; excellent communication both written and verbal, customer service, analytical, strong organizational, ability to handle multiple shifting priorities, self-motivated, innovative, and always striving for excellence
  • Strong personal ethics and integrity
  • Ability to work adjusted hours as needed to support project work

Education

  • B.S. in Business/Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent required
  • Training on scripting (VB, Batch, Powershell) required
  • Project Management Certification or training preferred
  • Asset Management Certification or training preferred
