Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

Requisition Summary

We're looking for an experienced agile software development and application support leader, ideally with a background in Engineering or PLM applications. This role will lead a team of developers, analysts and system administrators supporting PACCAR’s Windchill and related systems. This role will work closely with our business partners throughout the globe who use these applications.

This position will provide hands-on leadership to system initiatives, including areas of systems analysis, design and development.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Lead daily Agile/Scrum activities with a focus on continuous improvement and delivery.

  • Perform Release planning activities, accountable for adherence to change control standards, ensure incident resolution is completed in a timely manner.

  • Build strong relationships with peers and business stakeholders

  • Work with your team including hands-on efforts to design, develop, and maintain applications and lead end-to-end solutions with dependencies on other teams

  • Evaluate business objectives that require new systems or enhancements to existing systems

  • Actively participate in all stages of project/product development (SDLC)

  • Support initiatives, including identifying and analyzing preliminary business needs, budget considerations, time and resource estimates, defining the project scope and objectives, and getting business user sign-off

  • Prepare roles and responsibilities, job descriptions, provide general direction, coordinate and assigns daily activities and specific tasks, evaluates and mentors staff

  • Effectively communicate and manage initiative expectations to business partners, sponsors, team members, executive management, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

  • Execute all aspects of the Employee Performance cycle for the staff.

  • Contributes to budgetary planning for capital and expense forecasts

  • Provides technical input and/or direction for domain solutions

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years managing an application development team using Agile principals
  • 2+ years in an analyst or developer role
  • Strong analytical and release planning skills
  • An excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills; effective cross group negotiation and conflict management skills
  • A big-picture thinker, but can also dig into the details and know domain area inside and out
  • Pragmatic
  • Ability to manage and motivate
  • Excellent presentation/verbal/written communication skills to present technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely to individuals of different backgrounds, technical expertise, and levels of authority

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to enterprise application development

  • Understanding of .NET, Java technologies and MS SQL Server in web and desktop environment. Experience with PLM systems, specifically Windchill is preferred.

  • Strong focus and proven ability to facilitate relations between business groups and technology departments

  • Ability to work effectively in a complex environment involving rapidly changing priorities

Education

  • B.S. degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field required.
