Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

Requisition Summary

The IT Manager of Quality Assurance is responsible for leading all aspects of the department within the IT Division.  The Manager leads developing strategy, methodology and approach for system and software testing, including automated testing and performance tooling. This position will work closely with key partners in all business areas such as Applications, Operations, and Program Management.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Direct the development, implementation and continuous improvement of test approaches/procedures and quality management programs
  • Establish and drive adoption of the test automation framework which includes automated test tools, performance testing and techniques that drive quality and efficiency
  • Define test planning process, test estimation, quality gates, metrics KPI’s and governance for agile projects
  • Ensure test strategy and status reviews are completed for major projects and
  • Evaluate test data for trends and potential process improvement
  • Coordinates and coaches project teams regarding proper test procedure, review techniques for testing, test case definition, use Quality Center, test automation, load and performance tests etc.
  • Establish and report metrics for major projects, automation percentages, and performance testing
  • Identify and mitigate quality risks that will directly impact project timelines and deliverables
  • Champion, promote and continuously evaluate quality management initiatives and programs
  • Monitor effectiveness of quality strategies and programs; initiative improvements as necessary
  • Chair and Administer the Project Deliverables Committee, ensuring technical preparedness for projects and programs

 

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, develop internal talent, mentor and coach staff, and manage performance
  • Ensure planning of budget and sourcing strategy
  • Manage IT controls and act as point of contact for audits
  • Deliver executive and senior management presentations
  • Negotiate and manage project priorities and manage team to ensure the achievement of priorities
  • Travel up to 5%

Qualifications

  • 5+ years managing in information technology with a focus on applications development and QA
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Must have broad understanding of applications development and support processes, including experience managing external vendor suppliers and strategic partners
  • Demonstrated strong leadership with a proven record of team-building skills, possess the technical knowledge to work with top IT talent and have the organizational savvy to work across multiple global business units
  • Project management experience a plus

Education

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred
