PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

Requisition Summary

The Microsoft 0365/Exchange Engineer will be responsible for O365, Exchange Online, Exchange Online Protection, SMTP mail flow, OneDrive, and Teams; to ensure efficiency, stability, and security for the organization. Strong skills in email management including spoofing/spam/malicious content prevention and mail flow.  This role includes contributing to the strategy and roadmap and leading the implementation and operations of O365 service offerings.  The role is responsible for continuously identifying opportunities to improve services and technology for workplace solution services and the development and fielding of new services.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME)/Administrator within the O365 space working in a global environment with colleagues from different cultures.

  • Create and update PowerShell scripts for use within O365, Exchange, OneDrive, and/or Teams.

  • Actively engage with Microsoft’s Office 365 service offerings and staying up to date with new features and offerings.

  • Escalation point for issues by coordinating appropriate resources to ensure timely resolution

  • Works closely with vendors and business partners to optimize messaging services to ensure services are delivered effectively and efficiently communicates plans, status and issues to management and relevant stakeholders on a regular basis

  • Works closely with IT Security to detect, protect and remediate any risks within the email environment.

  • Participate in the research and review of new technologies.

  • Use professional knowledge and judgment to make independent decisions about O365 issues and event escalation

  • Demonstrate innovation and initiative – always looking to improve our offered products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help wherever necessary, required.

  • Understand key client objectives, and map those to user stories and/or requirements

  • Manage customer relationship by communicating standards and frameworks; answering questions; resolving concerns and issues


  • 5+ years’ experience with experience in planning, designing, deploying, managing/troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange systems and support of Microsoft Office 365 services, SMTP, calendaring, mail trace/email analysis, Retention, DLP, DNS, Windows Server, Outlook Web App (OWA), Exchange ActiveSync, Message Transport / Mail routing, and PowerShell etc.

  • In depth knowledge of Exchange Online and Exchange On-Prem hybrid configuration and management and ability to troubleshoot mail flow issues

  • Fundamental knowledge on archiving and retention of Microsoft Office 365 services.

  • MSCE/MSCA/MCP Certification desire

  • Configuring and managing e-mail security gateways (e.g. ProofPoint, Agari, etc.).

  • Experience using PowerShell to script tasks for automation and to administer Exchange and other O365 service offerings.

  • Able to work independently with a high degree of self-motivation and little oversight

  • ITIL and Agile Methodology experience

  • Industry Certifications are preferred

  • Microsoft SharePoint certifications and/or MCSE SharePoint are a plus


A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent is required.
