Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

 

The Role

This role is essential to accurate discovery and classification of sensitive data within PACCAR’s systems. This is a front-line data governance position where there will be significant interaction with business and technical users, and will primarily work in the Enterprise Data Catalog, Data Privacy Management, and Dynamic Data Masking software applications. The primary activities of this job are auditing scan results and updating search rules that allow classification of data PII and on configuring the Information Governance Platform features to support global governance operations. The measures of success in this role include:

  • The business has a high level of confidence in the accuracy of data classification rules.
  • Business and legal requirements of accurately translated to objective data classifications.

 

Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Auditing existing and develop search rules to classify and label data based on legal and business requirements.
  • Identify and define semantic relationships between data objects.
  • Support the launch of the PACCAR Data User Group.
  • Support business data stewards in developing and maintaining business glossaries and taxonomies.
  • Execute data subject registry requests.
  • Implement complex masking rules to ensure control over sensitive content.
  • Coordinate and execute data scan jobs to catalog and profile data sources.
  • Develop metrics and reports to quantify compliance risk.
  • Bulk manage data catalog objects through API’s, scripting, and other scalable means.

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years' of professional experience; 5-7+ years' of professional experience preferred.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of controlled vocabulary models.
  • Familiarity with a programming language (Python, R, C#, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of regular expressions (REGEX).
  • Familiarity with content and information management.
  • Understanding of data lineage, metadata, extract/transform/load (ETL) processes.
  • Highly detail-oriented and capable of tracking many tasks in a complex project environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Curious, inquisitive mind.

 

Education

  • Master's degree in Library Sciences, Informatics, Business Administration or related field strongly desired.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

The salary range for the Information Governance Engineer (Analyst) is $75,100 - $112,300 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above.
