Division Information
PACCAR's Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.
About the Role
The Product Management Intern will support ITD’s Digital’s products by assisting product managers in defining requirements and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital solutions. This role involves prioritizing backlogs, preparing product documentation, and collecting user feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements. The role will also contribute to process improvements and digital innovation initiatives within PACCAR’s ITD Digital Department.

As an IT Product Manager Intern, you will work with a highly collaborative team of digital products and technology professionals from diverse backgrounds. This team focuses on solving PACCAR’s most important business challenges by designing, delivering, and enhancing innovative digital solutions that support users across the organization. As part of a global Fortune 500 company, the Digital Solutions team works on a wide range of initiatives from defining product requirements and improving user experiences to supporting digital platforms, analytics-driven workflows, and process automation. Job Responsibilities & Project
- Support ITD Digital efforts in defining product requirements and user stories.
- Collaborate with IT development teams to track progress and help prioritize backlogs.
- Help translate business requirements into structured product requirement documents (PRDs) including problem statements, goals, and user needs.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Participate in discovery sessions with cross functional stakeholders.
- Participate in user research, UI/UX feedback sessions, and design discussions for analytics workflows, dashboards, and decision support systems.
- Assist product teams with backlog grooming, sprint planning, and sprint reviews using tools such as Jira.
- Demonstrate curiosity, collaboration, and a willingness to learn from technical and business teams.
- Contribute to process improvements and digital innovation initiatives.
- Embody core values around teamwork, openness, empathy, continuous improvement, and learning.
Required Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Product Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; comfortable working with data using Python, Jira, SQL, or BI tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies is a plus.
- Proficiency in Office Tool (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience or interest in product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities, with an interest in communicating technical ideas to nontechnical audiences.
- Basic knowledge of user experience (UX) principles and customer journey mapping is a plus but not required.
- Interest in emerging technologies and digital transformation trends.
Education
- Currently pursuing or having recently completed a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Business, or a related field.
- Coursework or experience in data analysis, statistics, and visualization preferred.
