Division Information

PACCAR Parts is the global provider of aftermarket parts and services to support Kenworth, Peterbilt, DAF and TRP dealers around the world.  This includes 18 distribution centers globally that support 2,200 dealerships and over 1,000,000 customers.  Aftermarket support includes world class customer centers that deliver industry leading uptime in conjunction with our outstanding supply chain that delivers record levels of inventory availability for dealers and customers. 

Requisition Summary

Global PACCAR Parts Information Technology team has an immediate opening for a motivated and energetic Data Engineer who wants to challenge themselves by working on Best-in-Class business enterprise applications, cloud products, ETL tools, and data warehousing. In this position you will work with multiple stakeholders to analyze requirements and develop innovative sustainable data pipelines and repositories for internal and external business data.
As the lead Data Engineer on this high profile team you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of data pipelines and data warehouse designs used by PACCAR employees, dealers, customers, and shareholders.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Solving highly technical and complex problems
  • Developing and enhancing the PACCAR data warehouse
  • Understanding, applying, and executing sustainable ETL processes & tools
  • Proficiency in cloud applications that support Business Intelligence and Data Science activities
  • Contributing towards automation/configuration management using Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, or an equivalent.
  • Maintaining code and scripting version control repositories and related systems supporting initiatives around “infrastructure as code”. GitHub and Azure DevOps
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving problems with the build, deployment, and continuous integration process.
  • Leveraging scripting languages to build automated solutions and integrations on an ad-hoc basis. Languages often include Python, Terraform, AWS Cloud formation.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • On-call support of PACCAR’s data warehouse


A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years’ experience working with ETL tools such as Qlik (previously Attunity), Informatica, etc
  • Experience working in an Agile Development environment
  • 2+ years experience working in AWS cloud products, such as S3 cloud storage, Gateway, Glue Process, API Gateway, Aurora, Lambda, etc
  • Experience developing code for highly scalable and high availability solutions
  • Ability to understand business requirements and turn them into technical requirements/code
  • 3+ years experience in a programming language(s) (Python & SQL preferred)
  • Maintain high level of quality while working under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to work well with others, as well as independently, in a fast paced environment with talented engineers and data scientists
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between back-end server, applications, databases, and networks
  • CI/CD experience preferred
  • Dev-Ops experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
  • A demonstrated passion for technology and innovation
  • A successful candidate will have aggressive learning goals and may support business partners using critical solutions that would require on-call responsibilities
