PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

Requisition Summary

The Digital Solutions team is helping PACCAR make better decisions faster by moving to the cloud, adopting DevOps/CICD best practices, and unlocking a new level of productivity & value. We are looking for technology leaders to drive this evolution.

We are looking for an Database Administrator of Snowflake to manage enterprise-level. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about learning new technologies and implementing them to empower internal customers and scale the existing platform. The ideal candidate demonstrates communication skills and works with business and technical teams. The Database Administrator would support design, develop, implementation, validation, document, and operate database structures within Snowflake. Support Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling and integrate using ETL\SSIS tools.  Will provide operational database services to the organization and help resolve snowflake data-related incidents and requests. There will be data maintenance, monitoring, and responding to data-related alerts and escalations on a day-to-day level.

He/she would be helping automating, tuning performance on snowflake queries. The person in this position should be analytical, have a high customer focus, and have a passion for process improvement. The Snowflake Database Administrator should be motivated and have excellent business acumen and communication skills to work with data owners to develop and define key business questions.



Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • DBA with Snowflake experience

  • Snowflake User and Role administration

  • User/database/warehouse creation

  • Monitor dormant users

  • Resource monitors creation/application/monitor

  • Monitor resumes/timeouts/auto suspends

  • Monitor Credit usage and utilization

  • Storage Usage

  • Snowflake procedures automation

  • Assist projects with onboarding new data, getting blobs in place, securing etc

  • Snowflake basics including basic architecture and using the product

  • Create all pertinent documentation related to Delivery activities including Runbooks

  • Support software systems to meet the client requirements


  • Strong communication skills both oral and written & strong analytical skills

  • Experience in Snowflake migrations

  • Experience in programing languages such as SQL

  • Resource should have hands-on experience in Snowflake with working knowledge on SQL Programing, Python and Java

  • Understanding of cloud technologies for big data analytics

  • Experience with Snowflake cloud data platform including but not limited to hands-on experience with Snowflake, Ability to create tables,views and task in snowflake

  • Knowledge in any ETL\tranformational data tool

  • Understanding of Snowflake Internals and integration of Snowflake with other data processing and reporting technologies

  • Person must have good data analytical skills

  • Hands on python programming is a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including active listening, problem-solving when under pressure, and facilitation.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business
