Division Information

PACCAR Parts operates a network of parts distribution centers offering aftermarket support to Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF dealers and customers around the world. Aftermarket support includes customer call centers operating 24 hours a day throughout the year and technologically advanced systems to enhance inventory control and expedite order processing.

Requisition Summary

The Associate Data Scientist provides exploratory data analyses and data models for PACCAR Parts by using leading edge data warehousing and tools such as Snowflake, Python/R, and Tableau. The Associate Data Scientist aids in developing others technical skillsets to grow data analytics in PACCAR Parts. 

This position is a part of the PPD Advanced Analytics team, a collaborative team who creates analytics solutions across PACCAR Parts. This team works on high-impact and high-visibility projects. Team members present their work to senior executives, helping shape not only PPD’s current business, but its long term analytics strategy. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Serve as an expert on PACCAR Parts data sources
• Develop and build reproducible & automated solutions using data for departments
• Provide accurate, relevant, and meaningful exploratory data analysis to management to support strategic and tactical decision-making.
• Lead technical trainings on SQL, Python/R, Tableau, and/or data analysis
• Able to capture business requirements and create custom Tableau dashboards for various stakeholders
• Develop advanced analytics models; including creating, validating, analyzing and explaining the data used for model development.
• Candidate must demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent general business acumen, with the ability to concisely and clearly communicate complex topics.
• Able to work with stakeholders from any department to develop new analytics solutions, identify necessary data, and support analytics best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required (quantitative field preferred)
• 2-3 years of experience in an data analyst role required
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access required
• Knowledge of SQL desired
• Familiarity with at least one programming language required (Python, R)
• Experience with data visualization preferred (Tableau)
• Experience or knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods
• Six Sigma experience a plus
• Must be a highly-motivated self-starter and self-directed learner with a creative mind, high attention to detail and a solution-oriented outlook
• Ability to succeed in a multi-functional business environment and influence adoption of new ideas
