The Assistant Director Aftermarket Logistics is responsible for managing all logistics, transportation and customs compliance functions for PACCAR Parts North America and South America with the exception of Brasil and provides significant input and guidance for all domestic and international PDC operations and Supply Chain areas.  This position performs as a key member of divisional operations and distribution strategy and development team.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Manages the PACCAR Parts Logistics department responsible for all shipments, transportation and customs compliance in North America and internationally
  • Achieves optimal freight costs for inbound and outbound shipment through improvements to quality and service, as well as, overall cost management
  • Develops and executes the logistics strategy for the division including the movement of freight to dealers, to/from distribution centers and direct supplier to dealer shipments
  • Champions all of the logistics Six Sigma and Continuous improvement projects
  • Establishes and manages freight carrier compliance and performance standards
  • Negotiates rate agreements with non-corporate freight carriers and other logistics providers in coordination with corporate logistics
  • Manages freight payment process to ensure carriers are paid within payment terms
  • Coaches and develops employees to achieve growth and results within the department and division
  • Effectively manages all internal projects related to system and process improvements which support logistics and materials functions
  • Benchmarks with other companies and brings forward systems/process improvements to ensure continued excellence in logistics and supply chain


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain-related fields; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in Transportation/Logistics Management, including both domestic and international focus
  • Management/supervisory experience and ability to manage multiple and diverse areas within the logistics and parts aftermarket fields
  • Strong negotiation skills and thorough knowledge of transportation pricing and industry-related issues and processes
  • Ability to travel, both domestic and internationally
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and PC skills, including Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
  • Six Sigma Experience; Lean Belt, Green Belt, or DFSS trained
  • Previous Transportation Management System experience desired
  • Has strong knowledge of PACCAR Parts Distribution and Logistics Operations and Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to interface professionally with all levels & functions of the organization
  • Exceptional attention to detail & highly organized
  • Multi-lingual skills desirable
