Requisition Summary

Ensure compliance with Corporate, Division and Plant policies for general accounting, inventory valuation and effective internal controls.

Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor and motivate staff
  • Manage plant accounting day-to-day and month-end tasks for all accounting areas including inventory, payroll, accounts payable and other receivables
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation based on performance & coordination of on-site interim inventories; build station audits, factor reviews, and assistance in planning and executing a bi-annual physical inventory
  • Direct the coordination and completion of the quarterly statistical audits of off-site third-party warehouse inventory and partner with operations to ensure inventory controls are strong at third-party sites
  • Direct the preparation of timely, accurate and meaningful forecasts, financial reports, cost analyses, inventory financial reports, account reconciliations and budgets.
  • Review various journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and perform account analysis
  • Review department expenditures and analyze variances between budget/forecast and actual results
  • Responsible for coordination with Division Office, internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Support plant projects, including plant comparison, rearrangement events and system related projects. Also, provide back-up support for other accounting areas as needed

Qualifications/Skills

  • Excellent analytical and technical accounting skills required
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, emphasizing continuous improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to understand the “big picture”
  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple projects from beginning to end
  • Deadline-driven, self-motivated and customer service oriented
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, macros, charts and graphs)
  • Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and changing priorities while meeting non-negotiable deadlines

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • BS/BA Accounting Degree
  • 8 + years of relevant accounting experience with increasing responsibility

 DESIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters degree highly preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing / Inventory accounting preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
  • SAP Experience Desired

Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
