Job Functions / Responsibilities:

You will be working the design, have hands-on from cradle to grave projects, validating the process AND field work with users and customers.  This opportunity is for ground level, next generation heavy-duty truck design in a small team environment!

  • Participate in the design, development and validation of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems for electric powertrain heavy-duty trucks.
  • Work in a collaborative small-team environment to explore and evaluate advanced vehicle technologies.
  • Define, design and develop harnesses, assemblies and electrical components to support advanced technologies projects.
  • Gain and apply broad product knowledge to implement new technologies to meet changing requirements in the heavy-duty truck market.
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with internal and external organizations to explore and test future technologies.
  • Leverage internal product development processes and Six Sigma skills to ensure high quality results, manage progress and report updates.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 4-year degree required; Master’s degree in business or engineering and P.E. certificate are preferred – Mechatronics degree with automotive background highly preferred!
  • 2+ years of demonstrated WORK (OUTSIDE of a college project or internships) experience in the specification and design of electrical automotive systems required; (Design of Hybrid Development efforts, Alternative Powertrain vehicle preferred)
  • Proficient in the use of Mentor Graphics, Creo and other industry standard CAD tools
  • Competence in the use of personal computer software such as word processing, database, and spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with project management methods and tools
  • Candidate should be willing to make use of engineering processes and techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems
  • Requires independent judgment and effective project management.
  • Ability to manage costs, time and resources; strong communication skills.
