The Role

This position is responsible for developing business application solutions utilizing the OutSystems multi-experience development platform. This role will work with the business through the application development lifecycle, from gathering and prioritizing business requirements, documenting systems design, developing the solution and

integrations, testing, promoting, and supporting the application and platform into production. This role will be supported by the innovation and R&D team along with our OutSystems account representatives to make sure you have the tools and training you need to be successful.

 

About the Team

The PACCAR Information Technology Division (ITD) Innovation and R&D team is comprised of talented engineers that work with the latest emerging technologies in augmented/virtual reality (XR), the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, hyperautomation, telecommunications, and many more. The team is passionate about finding applied market opportunities that can help the PACCAR business disrupt and innovate in their everyday workloads. As a member of the team, you will be an integral and highly-visible asset that delivers innovative solutions to our global stakeholders at PACCAR’s manufacturing facilities.

 

Job Responsibilities & Projects

• Work with business stakeholders to define application backlogs and priorities.

• Meet weekly with OutSystems account reps and other developers for office hours.

• Develop prioritized and architecture-ready solutions on the OutSystems platform in collaboration with business stakeholders.

• Monitor and access technical debt reduction opportunities on the platform and verify applications meet standards for security, performance, and maintainability.

• Develop and execute test plans, using automation where sensible.

• Promote applications utilizing CI/CD best practices.

• Assist other platform developers and users with access control, platform and application monitoring, and any general inquiries with the assistance of our platform representatives.

• Keep up to date on the latest OutSystems platform innovations and offerings and communicate them to the innovation team and stakeholders.

 

Required Experience & Skills

• 1+ year experience in object-oriented programming languages such as C# (.NET) or Python.

• 1+ year experience in front-end programming utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• 1+ year experience in relational database technologies such as SQL or PostgreSQL.

 

Desirable Experience & Skills

• Experience with OutSystems full-stack application development is a plus.

• Experience with native mobile development in IOS or Android is a plus.

• Experience in API development utilizing Google Apigee or similar technologies is a plus.

• Experience with RPA tooling such as UIPath or Power Automate is a plus.

• Familiarity with cloud solutions in AWS, Azure or GCP is a plus.

• Familiarity with Test or Behavior-Driven Development (TDD/BDD) is a plus.

• Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies and requirements management tooling such as Jira or Azure DevOps is a plus.

• Strong communicator that can work with various IT and business stakeholders through the software development lifecycle.

 

Education

• Undergraduate/Graduate degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or related field desired in progress.

 

Physical Demands

• Sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time

• Lifting up to 55 pounds

• Team lifting large objects such as servers using lifting equipment

  • Undergraduate Enrollment - $25 / hour
  • Graduate Enrollment - $30 / hour
