PACCAR India is seeking a skilled Technical Lead – Software Engineering to join its dynamic Pune team, an Automotive Designer supports model-based vehicle configuration and performance analysis for heavy-duty vehicle programs, enabling technically sound, compliant, and customer-focused vehicle solutions across conventional and emerging powertrain technologies.

Job Function / Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of vehicle configuration and performance models for heavy-duty vehicle applications.
  • Own system-level design decisions and provide technical direction for implementation activities across vehicle configuration and performance modelling solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership to implementation engineers through design reviews, solution guidance, and validation of engineering deliverables.
  • Define modelling approaches, engineering methodologies, and technical standards to ensure consistency and quality across vehicle configuration solutions.
  • Perform vehicle performance analysis and simulations to evaluate design feasibility, compliance, customer requirements, and support engineering decision-making.
  • Define and maintain calculation logic supporting vehicle configuration and performance assessments.
  • Influence design and product decisions through analysis, recommendations, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Testing, Quality, Sales, and Product teams to drive successful outcomes.
  • Lead validation activities and ensure solutions meet quality and functional expectations.
  • Review vehicle performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and engineering practices.
  • Maintain technical documentation and design records.
  • Support Sales and Product teams by translating technical requirements into customer-focused vehicle solutions.

 

Qualification:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees in automotive engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field

 

Required Skills:

Technical / Professional Experience Requirements: 6 to 10 Years
