Requisition Summary:
PACCAR India is looking for a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pune, specializing in the design development and Integration of engines, engine components and systems on vehicle.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer your expertise will be leveraged in Layout development, component packaging, installation drawing, and coordination with a cross-functional team to ensure engines are installed safely, efficiently and compliant with technical requirements. Job Function / Responsibilities:
- Engine installation layout development, including mounting systems, brackets, and interfaces.
- Preparation of 3D CAD design and create detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T, BOM creation for engine installations.
- Routing and packaging of auxiliaries such as exhaust, cooling lines, hoses, wiring, and fuel lines.
- Perform calculations related to clearances, envelopes and mass properties.
- Work on large assemblies, including effective use of simplified representations.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams locally and globally to ensure design alignment and manufacturability.
- The primary function for this position includes:
- Execution on CAD – sheetmetal, advance modeling and assembly, drawing. Having knowledge about NX, Teamcenter and ECR/ECN release system will be an added advantage.
- Understand design requirements, clearance check, drawing standards, GD&T, and Bill of Material (BOM).
- Experience in engine exhaust, cooling and auxiliary system.

Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Production Engineering
Required Skills:
- 3-6 years of hands-on experience in Mechanical engineering.
- Strong proficiency in NX and Teamcenter.
- Strong understanding of engine systems and interfaces (Exhaust and cooling system)
- Strong understanding of sheet metal design and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to manage and design large assemblies efficiently.
- Excellent understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack up, and engineering drawing practices.
- Experience in tool clearance, reliability, and ergonomic assessments.
- Ability to collaborate with both local and global engineering teams.
Desired Skills:
- Familiar with truck systems and components
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
- Familiar with validation, test procedures and issue resolution
- Emissions (Euro Norms)
- Thermal & NVH requirements
