PACCAR India is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pune. Specialized in the design and development of various truck components, including conceptual sheet metal brackets, casting components, air routing systems, brake systems, and exhaust systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute CAD activities, including sheet metal, casting, piping, routing, advanced modeling, and assembly design; surfacing knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Understand and interpret design requirements, perform clearance checks, and ensure adherence to drawing standards, GD&T, and BOM accuracy.
  • Work with frame and mounting components, including air and hydraulic routing, brake systems, and suspensions
  • Develop robust sheet metal, piping, routing, and casting components with a strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T, BOMs, and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Perform vehicle packaging, system integration, and interface management across subsystems.
  • Participate in concept and design reviews with lead and global division engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, both locally and globally, to ensure design alignment and manufacturability

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Automotive or Production Engineering

 

Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry, with truck domain experience being an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Creo Parametric and Windchill.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal, piping, routing, casting, and manufacturing processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of chassis frame mountings, brake systems, and suspension systems.
  • Capable of efficiently designing and managing large assemblies using both top-down and bottom-up approaches.
  • Excellent grasp of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and engineering drawing standards.
  • Experience in tool clearance, reliability, and ergonomic evaluations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both local and global engineering teams

 

Knowledge & Skills DESIRED:

  • Creo Surfacing skills – an added advantage.
  • Truck domain experience being an added advantage
