Mechanical Engineer (Bill of Material (BOM), ECN writing)

PACCAR India is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pune. Experienced in developing, managing, and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development, manufacturing processes, and adherence to company and regulatory standards.

As a Mechanical Engineer at PACCAR, you will leverage your expertise in BOM structure, PCMS, COPICS, Ultimus and ECN Writing to create robust, ergonomic, and manufacturable solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and existing products.
• Ensure accuracy of part numbers, descriptions, quantities, and product structures.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and design changes to update BOMs accordingly.
• Manage BOM revisions and maintain proper version control.
• Coordinate with design, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure BOM accuracy and availability of parts.
• Enter and maintain BOM data in the system
• Support engineering change requests and implement approved changes in BOM records.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, documentation requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Support production and new product introduction by providing accurate material and component information.
• Participate in BOM audits and data validation activities to maintain data integrity.
• Comfortable working in shift (15:00 to 00:30)

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Automotive or Production Engineering

Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:

• 1-3 years of hands‑on experience in Mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) structure, including single-level and multi-level BOM
• Experience in BOM creation, maintenance, and revision control
• Familiarity with engineering change management and change request processes
• Strong skills in data validation, data cleansing, and documentation control
• Proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis, reporting, and BOM comparison
• Experience is Creo & Windchill added advantage
