CAE Engineer

PACCAR India is seeking an experienced Finite Element Analyst, who will be responsible for analysing Commercial Vehicle Systems and Subsystems using Optistruct and Abaqus.

Key Responsibilities:

• The primary responsibility of this role is to analyse PACCAR global products using static and dynamic FEA techniques.
• You will be required to partner with global and local teams to understand the design intent, then develop and validate static and vibration structural FEA models to substantiate new engineering designs.
• Understand product and evaluate requirements of vehicle systems, sub-systems, and components in collaboration with internal and external customers.
• Deployment of digital prototype methodologies in static and vibration structural FEA analysis (stress, deformation, fatigue, modal, harmonics, and random vibration FEA analysis.)
• Conduct training of Junior team members

Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:

• 2-4 years of relevant experience with multinational engineering organization
• Good understanding of engineering fundamentals of Strength of Materials and Vibrations, and their application in Mechanical design
• Analysis experience of metal casting, forging, sheet metal and welded components
• Knowledge of Commercial Vehicle product lines and architecture
• Fundamental understanding of the Finite Element Method (FEM) and demonstrable experience of commercial FEA software tools
• Excellent English communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
• Team player with highly effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Good learning agility with energy and zeal to deliver beyond expected results

Knowledge & Skills DESIRED:

• Experience in Altair Hyperworks suite and Abaqus FEA solver

Competencies and Behaviours:

• Coordinate with stakeholders to develop static and vibration structural FEA analysis requirements for PACCAR Product
• Interpret, summarize, and communicate static and vibration structural FEA results (stress, deformation, fatigue, modal, Harmonics & random vibration FEA analysis) to local and global audience and provide technical and/or design recommendations.
• Support validation for maturing analysis capability of static and vibration structural FEA.
• Support test plan wherever necessary to verify simulation model and validate analysis approach in correlation with test outcomes.
• Understand product function and architecture in depth and collaborate closely with product and test team.
