Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, has an immediate opening for a Region Engine Service Manager, in our Southeast Region to support products in the field. This position will work directly with dealers and customers to provide technical support for our products. The position reports to the Region Field Service Manager located in Nashville, Tennessee.



Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Provide PACCAR Engine technical assistance to his region field service group and dealer.
  • Review, assist and provide feedback for service documentation
  • Communicate information related to the PACCAR Engine product changes, field fixes and emerging issue to the region field service group and dealer network
  • Track, monitor and keep in touch with dealer for tool, training compliance
  • Stay current on Division and Plant activities
  • Participate to meetings and conference call in cooperation with the engineering group, Kenworth, and PTC
  • Support the Peterbilt training department by reviewing PACCAR Engine training classes content and provide product update to the training group
  • Develop tools and aids to help for PACCAR Engine troubleshooting
  • Monitor, track and manage on a daily basis Support Link cases, engage if needed
  • Manage case escalation to the Engine Support Center or the Advanced Diagnostic Group
  • Provide feedback resolution through proper reporting and channel for product change and improvement
  • Attend and support dealer and customer through meeting and visits
  • Implement field solution via dealer and in some case at customer
  • Support and participate in the Technical Manager program
  • Onsite involvement with hard to diagnose case
  • Attend and support industry event
  • Leadership role on a Technical and Management aspect

Skills / Competencies

  • Degree in engineering, business or automotive preferred,
  • Product and technical service knowledge gained through 3-8 years of related service; preferably heavy duty trucks / OEM or truck components.
  • Thorough understanding of heavy duty trucks or related equipment and the ability to apply and communicate this knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with customers.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and written, including the ability to plan, organize and deliver formal presentations.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify, prioritize, analyze and successfully resolve customers, dealers and field service organization problems, giving a high priority to customer satisfaction.
  • High aptitude with software applications environment and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting including proprietary, supplier and third party tools
  • Approximately 35% travel required to support and stay current on product field activities
  • Knowledge and driven to stay up to date with Peterbilt and PACCAR product offering on both a service and sales perspective.
  • Management background with strong aptitude to manage a dynamic multi task environment
