Requisition Summary

 

The Senior Accounting/ Financial Analyst is responsible for engineering program spending and forecast analysis and interacts closely with a variety of departments and personnel throughout the PACCAR Technical Center (PTC). Responsibilities include support for DOE funded programs, analyzing data for management and assisting with month-end.

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities


•    Ensure timely and accurate presentation of financial statements and analytical reports.
•    Perform month-end closing cycle activities for research & development programs including preparing monthly journal entries, preparing financial statements and reporting results to Corporate and division management.
•    Provide support for accounting processes related to various Department of Energy (DOE) programs including monthly reconciliation, invoice preparation and/or review, quarterly reporting to DOE, indirect cost reporting, annual audits, etc.
•    Analyze the monthly results against program budgets and investigate variances with program managers. Monitor expenses to assist managers in achieving their project objectives while staying within approved budgets.
•    Coordinate the forecast process, gathering and assessing data from various sources and managers to compile the forecast of future trends.
•    Participate in budget preparation and analysis
•    Prepare month-end journal entries and reconciliation
•    Assist in preparing and reviewing reconciliations.
•    Prepare annual and quarterly reports as required.
•    Special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications & Skills


  
•    BS/BA Accounting degree required 
•    4+ years relevant work experience
•    Strong technical accounting skills, including experience with project based accounting
•    Experience with government awards accounting desired
•    Strong analytical skills with attention to detail 
•    Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills 
•    Strong organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work as part of a team
•    Attention to detail with a ‘Big picture” focus and drive for continuous improvement 
•    Ability to work independently, handling multiple priorities to meet deadlines
•    Strong PC skills including advanced MS Excel (charts, pivot tables, Power Query etc.) and Access skills 
•    SAP experience desired
