Position Summary
The PACCAR Global Engine team is looking for a driven Engine Integration & Development Engineer to support product development with a specific focus on heavy-duty diesel engine performance of the North American PACCAR engine families. The selected individual will work closely with the global cross-functional team and be responsible for delivering the best performing emissions and OBD compliant engine calibrations for North America.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Responsible for in-vehicle CAN configuration and diagnostics across multiple electronic control units
  • Responsible for in-vehicle functional verification testing of high voltage systems
  • Responsible for testing and providing input into engine software testing and issue resolution
  • Works directly with OBD counterparts to build robust diagnostic calibrations
  • Works with the global cross-functional team to ensure test requirements are achieved
  • Provides test plans and conducts testing for vehicle test trips
  • Provides support to current and future advanced technology projects as need occurs
  • Provides technical feedback on proposed calibration changes
  • Ensures proper communication and documentation of work conducted including updating processes and writing reports
  • Stays current on software functionality and product requirements for the PACCAR engine families. Stays technically current with the heavy-duty diesel industry.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with other groups and PACCAR divisions



Qualifications & Skills


  • BS in appropriate technical field required, MS degree in technical field preferred
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the automotive industry
  • General knowledge of in-vehicle calibration and data acquisition systems, calibration tools, and engine control system integration
  • General knowledge of OBD and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong willingness to learn in detail oriented fast paced work environment
  • Organized and disciplined with ability to manage personal workload and a willingness and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
