This key position is located within the Advanced Technology group at the PACCAR Technical Center.  Responsibilities include leading the evaluation and selection of the appropriate battery cells for PACCAR zero emission vehicles.

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Lead the continuous improvement of PACCAR’s TRL process and related tools.
  • Lead research, analysis, testing, and documentation activities related to component development.
  • Cooperate with purchasing to evaluate and select component and system suppliers. 
  • Communicate results and recommendations to team and stakeholders on a regular basis and facilitate technology transfer to relevant PACCAR divisions. 
  • Experience acquiring and assessing Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for automotive parts
  • Experience processing non-standard part approval requests, program waiver requests, and discussing and explaining component quality documentation
  • Lead creation and development of component foundation documents such as P-Diagram and DFMEA 



  • Bachelors or Masters (preferred) degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.  
  • Experience with the use of commercial/automotive parts in safety-critical and/or high-reliability applications
  • Background in system-level integration and performance testing.  
  • Previously demonstrated resourcefulness, strong technical knowledge, analytical capability, and communication skills.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills, be a self-starter and have demonstrated high levels of initiative and innovation.
