Job Summary
As a Software Engineering Intern within PACCAR Powertrain, you will contribute to real-world engineering projects that advance PACCAR’s mission to deliver robust, scalable, and data‑driven software solutions. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will enhance data pipelines, improve analytical tools, and support innovation across Global PACCAR Powertrain teams. Interns are fully integrated into team operations, participate in cross‑functional meetings, and present their project outcomes to peers and senior leaders—giving you visibility, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
This role is based at the PACCAR Technical Center, a state-of-the-art research and engineering facility dedicated to emerging technologies including next‑generation powertrain systems, vehicle electrification, and autonomous driving advancements.

- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), in person
- Duration: Minimum 12 weeks

Job Responsibilities
- Develop clean, functional code to implement new software features.
- Utilize automated build and deployment tools to streamline software releases.
- Perform unit testing, participate in code reviews, and contribute to software quality assurance.
- Design and build ETL systems that support data archival, analysis, and reporting with a strong focus on data integrity.
- Develop MATLAB functions and scripts to automate reporting for test fleets.
- Ensure compliance with software documentation standards, policies, and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in documentation and development processes.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently in junior or senior year of a bachelor’s degree program (graduation 2026–2027) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics), other STEM fields, or related discipline.
- Experience with scripting and data analysis (MATLAB).
- Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, or Azure.
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages: Python, C#/C++, Java, SQL.
- Strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively.
Preferred:
- Basic understanding of diesel exhaust aftertreatment technologies (DOC, DPF, SCR, DEF).
- Introductory knowledge of engine control strategies and CAN networking.
