Requisition Summary

The Powertrain Systems team is responsible for the software and calibration releases on embedded real-time automotive controls (including systems such as transmissions, engines, and exhaust aftertreatments). As a subset of Powertrain Systems, the Software Configuration Management Team is responsible for verifying software/calibration releases and the management of this content for North American vehicles. This team acts as an essential intermediary between various engineering organizations who are dependent on the team’s support for the delivery of quality Powertrain products.

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

•    Perform vehicle, engine, and aftertreatment calibration content verification
•    Train in and apply industry-standard configuration management tools, including CRETA, Vector, ATI
•    Run simple verification simulations and perform basic troubleshooting based on results
•    Basic Engine Control Unit (ECU) software and hardware troubleshooting
•    Improve and maintain configuration management of vehicle software and calibrations
•    Facilitate meetings with Powertrain engineers as required
•    Provide support for various engineering departments, on both a scheduled and ad hoc basis
•    Contribute to process definition as well as improve upon existing processes
•    Create and maintain organizational, procedural, and technical documentation
•    Light travel may be necessary

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

•    1 year of applicable experience
•    Ability to excel in a team environment as well as self-direct
•    Ability to redirect as project priorities shift
•    Ability to understand technical issues and relay them to varying expertise levels
•    Ability to work well across many different organizations and divisions
•    Close attention to details on individual work product
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
•    Familiarity with programming or scripting: MATLAB, Visual Basic, Python, C#
•    Knowledge of databases and SQL
•    Prior HIL/SIL experience

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree (eg. Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, etc.) required.
