PACCAR is seeking a full-time Instrumentation Technician to support the maintenance and repair activities of the various instrumentation located in the Engine Test Lab.  This position will work under the guidance of senior staff members until fully trained.

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations, maintenance and repair activities on equipment such as temperature, pressure, level and flow instrumentation, emissions analyzers and sample systems, particulate measurement systems, fuel measurement systems, and dynamometers
  • Perform repairs, assembly and troubleshooting of wiring harnesses
  • Develop and maintain equipment work instruction documents
  • Plan and schedule calibrations and maintenance activities using Fluke MET/TEAM calibration management software
  • Store and maintain calibration and maintenance records of equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on equipment controlled by PLC’s
  • Work with suppliers to source parts and maintain spare parts inventory
  • Maintain calibration gas cylinder inventory and order gas cylinders as needed
  • Respond to changes in priorities and project demands on a regular basis
  • Maintain the highest level of work area cleanliness and organization
  • Perform duties safely and efficiently

Qualifications

  • AA degree or vocational certification in Instrumentation or related technology
  • Good understanding of electronics and electrical theory
  • Good understanding of PID tuning and final control elements
  • Good understanding of Variable Frequency Drives
  • Good understanding of PLC’s with the ability to read and interpret ladder logic diagrams
  • Ability to read and interpret P & ID’s and schematic wiring diagrams
  • Good communication skills
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be self-directed with the ability to manage personal workload
  • Good computer skills (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Auto-Cad and MS Visio is a plus
