PACCAR seeks a motivated engineer to lead GHG regulatory engineering efforts.  This role involves interacting throughout the PACCAR organization as well as with regulatory agencies (EPA, CARB, ECCC) and industry groups such as EMA.

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc. through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is in the scenic Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. 
 


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in GHG Phase 3 Development within PACCAR and influence the regulation with EMA, EPA, and CARB.
  • Interface with the PACCAR Engine team as the Fuel Map expert to improve GHG credits.
  • Provide regulatory updates in weekly GHG meetings with EMA.
  • Lead coordination of EPA/CARB Selective Enforcement Audit (SEA) for Transmissions, Axles, or any GEM parameter.
  • Develop GHG regulatory requirements including agency expectations & corporate policies.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to product development teams on GHG topics.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of related industry experience desired.
  • Self-starter who effectively works under limited supervision.
  • Experience with GEM tool functionality and operation.
  • Experience quantifying the GHG impact of vehicle components and features to include axles, transmissions, tires, speed limiters, neutral-idle, weight reduction, intelligent controls accessory loads, extended idle reduction, tire pressure systems, and air conditioning.
  • Basic knowledge of GHG credits and projections.
  • Awareness of EPA and CARB GHG regulations.
  • Good PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in appropriate engineering discipline required
