Division Information 

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. 


Requisition Summary

The General Accountant will be responsible for capital assets, employee expense reports and account reconciliations. Assist with month-end close tasks, including journal entry preparation, SOX/ICAP testing and other administrative tasks.
 

Location: Mt. Vernon, WA (PTC) 


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Coordinate accounting and tracking of capital projects 

  • Audit employee expense reports, including review for proper documentation 

  • Prepare monthly journal entries

  • Complete monthly account reconciliations, as assigned

  • Participate in SOX/ICAP testing and initiate process improvements

  • Participate in year-end closing activities, as assigned

  • Provide accounting support for operations

  • Identify and implement process improvements

  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned


Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities

  • Attention to detail with a “big picture” focus

  • Ability to influence and work with employees at all levels of the organization

  • Must be a self-starter, able to meet deadlines and work as part of a team

  • Ability to work under pressure with deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail

  • Excellent analytical and technical accounting skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word & PowerPoint

  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP and Internal Controls

  • SAP experience desired

 

Education & Training

  • BS/BA Accounting Degree

  • Minimum two years of work experience


Desired

  • CPA or CPA candidate

  • Public Accounting or Audit experience
