Requisition Summary

The candidate for this position will work with a first rate team of technicians and engineers testing heavy truck components and systems.  The candidate will be responsible for setup, maintaining and tear down of sophisticated servo hydraulic test equipment in the structural dynamics lab.The candidate will be required to perform duties safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.and maintain the highest level of documentation, work area cleanliness and organization.

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Mechanical support in the setup of various test rigs and structures used for evaluation and validation of components and systems of PACCAR products. 
  • Organization, movement, and assembly of large steel I-beams to the installation of small test samples into sensitive test fixtures. 
  • Hydraulic actuator installation and plumbing and test fixture fabrication
  • Various test equipment adjustment or maintenance. 
  • Perform periodic inspection of test samples and record observations in log book.
  • Use of basic electronic test controller functions to start or shut down tests as needed. 
  • Various technical tasks to  support specific test project activities as needed.


  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in the use of air tools, hand tools, and power tools. 
  • 2+ years of job related experience. 
  • Good mathematical skills and basic knowledge of general engineering theory and practices.  Ability to understand engineering drawings of mechanical equipment, test fixtures and assemblies
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills.


Associate’s degree in Diesel Power Technology or equivalent preferred
