Job Overview
PACCAR Powertrain is seeking motivated and innovative engineering students to join our Summer 2026 Internship Program within the Engine Test Lab team. Interns will work hands-on with heavy duty powertrain systems to support testing, validation, and performance evaluation of PACCAR’s next generation engines and aftertreatment technologies.

Job Responsibilities
As an Engine Test Intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians to support testing activities in a world-class engine development environment. You will contribute to:

Conducting performance, durability, and emissions tests on heavyduty engines and powertrain systems

Supporting validation of new engine hardware, software, and aftertreatment components

Designing and building tools or fixtures to improve powertrain testing efficiency, emissions measurement, and data processing workflows

Troubleshooting issues with test cell instrumentation and data acquisition systems

Analyzing test data using tools such as AVL Concerto

Assisting with technical report preparation and documentation updates for instrumentation and data acquisition systems
Qualifications
Required:
-
Currently in junior or senior year of a bachelor’s degree program (graduation 2026–2027) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics), other STEM fields, or related discipline.

Strong computer and data analysis skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Ability to collaborate effectively with ETL technicians and engineering staff

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
-
Experience with test instrumentation, data acquisition, or powertrain systems

Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, or similar tools

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hour (pay varies by undergraduate and graduate degree)
