PACCAR Production Compliance is hiring an experienced engineer for a leadership position. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading a team of four engineers who oversee engine and aftertreatment system On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) and emissions compliance testing conducted using engine dynamometers. This role is instrumental in maintaining the certification of our engines with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

 

This position is located at the PACCAR Technical Center (PTC) satellite office in beautiful Mount Vernon, Washington, about 65 miles north of Seattle. 
 


Job Functions / Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct Manufacturer Self-Test as per 13 CCR 1971.5(c).
  • Manage high mileage engine and aftertreatment emissions testing programs.
  • Assist in preparations for EPA Selective Enforcement Audits.
  • Prepare and present technical information for regulatory agency interactions.
  • Foster cooperative and productive relationships with other PACCAR divisions.
  • Develop a collaborative team environment by coaching personnel and encouraging problem-solving and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct annual staff performance reviews.
  • Manage multiple project budgets, forecasting, and travel.
  • Travel up to 10%.
     

Required Qualifications & Skills
 

 

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience conducting or managing compliance testing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of CARB 1971.1 and 1971.5 regulations.
  • Experience preparing and presenting technical information to management and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Process Oriented or Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus

 

Education
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field required, advanced degree preferred.
