The PACCAR Global Engine team is looking for a driven Engine Development Engineer to support product development with a specific focus on heavy-duty diesel engine performance of the North American PACCAR engine families. The selected individual will work closely with the global cross-functional team and be responsible for delivering the best performing emissions and OBD compliant engine calibrations for North America

Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and responsible for in-vehicle engine performance testing of current and future product models
- Provides support to aftersales groups in the verification, validation, and release of running change software
- Responsible for in-vehicle engine calibration and verification support of ongoing development programs
- Responsible for supporting engine development activities during offsite vehicle test trips
- Responsible for creating test cases, performing tests and data analysis, and reporting test results for engine component and performance testing
- Works with the global cross-functional team to ensure test requirements are achieved with quality results
- Ensures proper communication and documentation of work conducted including updating processes and writing reports
- Stays current on software functionality and product requirements for the PACCAR engine families. Stays technically current with the heavy-duty diesel industry.
- Maintains positive working relationships with other groups and PACCAR divisions
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in the automotive industry
- Sound knowledge of in-vehicle verification and data acquisition systems, calibration tools, and engine control systems
- Sound knowledge of OBD and regulatory requirements
- Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively multi-cultural environment
- Self-directed, excellent analysis and engineering judgment required
- Organized and disciplined with ability to manage personal workload and a willingness and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to travel up to 15%
Education
BS in appropriate technical field
