Requisition Summary

 

Under the direction of the PDC Manager drives a climate of Continuous Improvement by being a change agent targeting world-class productivity, quality and service through projects, mentorship and control.

 

Location: Toronto, Ontario - Canada

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

 

  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the facility by leading mini games, mentoring belts and managing new project proposals. Lead and complete 2-3 Six Sigma projects yearly that result in process efficiencies targeting world-class productivity, quality and service.  Projects completed, along with proven and controlled efficiencies, should result in increasing productivity rates in 1-2 functions annually.  Actively pursue changes to location sizes and velocities to enhance pick path.
  • Participate in division initiatives by representing the PDC at offsite projects/events, act as business lead for IT Projects and perform dealer visits independently. Build a strong relationship and seek guidance from PDC Process Analyst/Engineer. Regular communication with Aftermarket Packaging Manager, Operations Quality Manager and Analytics Manager to share ideas and support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Regular communication with Warehouse Supervisors to identify trends from process audits they conducted in breaking, stocking, picking, packing, shipping, housekeeping functions.  Review results of soft/hard error assignment and advise on development plans for associates. Ensure process alignment with PDC Policies and Best Practices.
  • Manage Quality Associates and ensure daily completion of inventory control activities; which includes shipping error research and resolution, NIS research, dealer returns, dealer credit requests, cycle count and inventory adjustments.  Examine and continuously improve the inventory control processes.
  • Responsibility for the Quality inbox and act as liaison with Marketing, Materials, Logistics and Operations Support to ensure issues are resolved promptly.  Support the Receiving Supervisor in escalated supplier communications or disputes resulting from the Vendor Compliance Program infractions and monitor supplier trends.
  • Provide coverage for Warehouse Supervisors when needed, proficient in at least one department (receiving, picking, shipping).  Assist in training new associates.  Perform other duties as requested by PDC Manager.

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

•Bachelor degree (B.A. or B.S.) required. Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related area required, M.B.A. desired.
•Thorough knowledge of DC operations, practices and procedures acquired by 5 years or more experience in a progressive, complex RF distribution center, with inventory control administrative and supervisory duties.
•Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and effectively communicate and present to individuals and groups. Strong interpersonal skills.
•Ability to use AS400 and LAN systems experience required. Intermediate abilities in MS Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, MSWord.
•Flexibility to work different and varied work schedules, up to 15% travel each year.
•Six Sigma lean belt training minimally, Green Belt preferred.
•Bi-lingual skills a plus [desired, not required].
