Dynacraft S&O Coordinator / Project Coordinator

Requisition Summary

The S&O Coordinator will be responsible for managing the identification of parts that are at risk for become surplus or obsolete and minimizing risk for the division.  They will be responsible for the identification and disposition of this material once declared to manage S&O recovery and use up plans.  Additionally, they will manage the material implementation segment of Engineering Change Notices.  They will assure that processes requiring Plant/Division coordination for new product implementation and product changes are well defined and supported and will coordinate the material segment of these changes with the supplier to establish a mutually agreed upon implementation date while minimizing surplus and obsolete inventory.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Prepare Quarterly Surplus and Obsolete Declarations
  • Maintain surplus and obsolete data
  • Negotiations with customers and suppliers for highest recovery possible for S&O based on cause research
  • Prepare and conduct PACCAR Parts sales
  • Prepare material disposition requests
  • Maintain/track/follow-up on material disposition records
  • Maintain/update SAP S&O plant specific material codes as necessary
  • Engineering assistance and interaction for S&O resolution/avoidance
  • Communicate issues and take appropriate actions with suppliers when necessary to maintain appropriate inventory levels in accordance to S&O avoidance and turns or availability targets
  • Run and distribute S&O reports as needed to various departments
  • Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, graphs and reports for use in S&O inventory performance analysis
  • Coordinate with Demand Planning to identify areas of excess forecast to limit plant risk of S&O
  • Determines production requirements for assigned groupings of manufactured or purchased parts by reviewing sales or engineering releases, part demand forecasts, historical data, exception reports, and other information.
  • Responsible for monitoring and optimizing days on hand of assigned material.
  • Plans and coordinates introduction of new parts and phase out of old parts considering current inventory levels and established urgency of change.  Coordination with Plant/Division Engineering, Materials, Purchasing, Marketing, and Assembly
  • Monitors quality, service, and deliveries of suppliers and provides input to Corporate Purchasing group, serving as central contact for suppliers.
  • Establish and improve JIT (Just-in-Time) and materials flow programs with Assembly, Accounting, Materials, and suppliers.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications & Skills

  • 2-3 years of experience in materials or manufacturing support preferred.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and flexible to a consistently changing and developing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including: written, verbal, listening and presentation are required.
  • Knowledge of statistics, supply chain management, distribution practices, EDI, inventory management, and production environments strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects.
  • Negotiation skills, including conflict management.
  • Mechanical aptitude including ability to read engineering drawings and communicate technical information clearly desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Access
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.




  • Four-year degree
  • MBA preferred
