Division Information

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. a suburb of Dallas. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturerof PACCAR medium- and heavy-duty truck parts sold under Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. For fifty years Dynacraft hasprovided the company’s truck divisions and PACCAR Parts division with high quality components, subassemblies, and specializedservices. Dynacraft has production facilities in Louisville, KY, and McKinney, TX.

Requisition Summary

Dynacraft is looking for a Quality Engineer to help support our Texas facility. The Quality Engineer reports to the Division Quality Manager and will function as the primary plant resource to ensure that APQP is followed for product launches and all Dynacraft and PACCAR standards are maintained.  The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is proactive, and has experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Working closely with assigned suppliers to assure understanding and compliance with PACCAR Supplier Quality requirements and guidelines.
  • Leading suppliers to improve supplier quality performance through effective and on time completion of corrective actions, keeping PACCAR GCA portal up to date at all times.
  • Working hand in hand with Corporate Supplier Quality, Purchasing, Engineering, Materials, Plant Operations, and Supplier on supplier quality issues.
  • Working with PACCAR Purchasing to identify, assess, and develop new PACCAR suppliers.
  • Working closely with suppliers through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new product launches. 
  • Performing evaluations of supplier’s capabilities in meeting PACCAR’s quality and capacity requirements.
  • Timely and comprehensive reporting of assigned Supplier Quality status.
  • Approximately 30-60% travel depending on business conditions.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability gained through 3 - 4 years of progressively complex quality situations (experience in related fields are potential substitutes).
  • Proficient in quality methods used to achieve best in class product and process performance (e.g., statistical problem solving and process capability analysis, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven negotiation and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong PC skills with familiarity in Access, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project.
  • Project Management experience with a focus on achieving timing requirements.
  • Ability to manage conflict across functional and corporate boundaries; effective problem solver.

Education

  • Six Sigma / Lean Training (or willingness to complete training)
  • AIAG CQE or CSQP Certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of Engineering Drawings and GD & T, including inspection methods and equipment.
  • Automotive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) expertise.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.  Degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
