Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. a suburb of Dallas. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium- and heavy-duty truck parts sold under Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. Requisition Summary
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for supporting financial operations within a manufacturing environment through cost accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, inventory control, and month-end closing activities. This role partners with cross-functional departments, including Operations, Engineering, Materials, Logistics, and Master Data, to ensure accurate financial reporting, standard costing, inventory valuation, and business performance analysis.
The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of accounting, analytical skills, and the ability to drive process improvements while supporting financial decision-making and operational excellence. The position is located in McKinney, Texas, and it provides exposure to leadership and opportunities for professional growth within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Participate in month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Perform financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting activities.
- Maintain and analyze standard costs to ensure accuracy across products and operations.
- Partner with Materials, Engineering, Operations, and Master Data teams to support costing accuracy and financial performance.
- Collaborate with Logistics to ensure freight forecasts, accruals, and financial data are accurate.
- Support inventory control activities, including inventory audits and accuracy initiatives.
- Ensure new product standard costs are developed accurately and implemented timely.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance financial and operational processes.
- Support SAP enhancements and additional ERP functionality implementations.
- Assist with semi-annual cost reviews and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Cost accounting and financial analysis
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Standard cost development and maintenance
- General ledger reconciliation and variance analysis
- Inventory accounting and control
- Financial reporting and data analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, charts, data analysis)
- ERP systems knowledge (SAP preferred)
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Project management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Independent decision-making and initiative

- Leadership and collaboration skills
Education
- Associate’s degree in accounting required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting strongly preferred
- CPA certification a plus
- MBA degree a plus
- Big Four public accounting experience preferred
