Requisition Summary

Dynacraft is looking for a resident engineer to support our current product. We need an energetic, creative engineer to help improve our product and service offerings. This position is responsible for maintaining business in support of Dynacraft goals and objectives and will coordinate efforts across several business disciplines. The ability to develop and maintain excellent customer relationships, while demonstrating strong leadership and project management skills are required to be successful. The ideal candidate is experienced in manufacturing, is proactive in taking action to lead quality improvements and will have demonstrated success in making lasting improvements.  Fact-based decision making is a requirement for success. This candidate will spend three days each week at the Denton, TX location and two days in McKinney, TX

Job Functions / Responsibilities

•    Reports to the Division Engineering Manager
•    Provides technical support to customer engineers for Dynacraft products
•    Model designs for both customers and Dynacraft proprietary products on Pro-E/Creo
•    Develop and maintain assembly drawings on truck related components
•    Develop bills of material, labor estimates and product cost estimates
•    Conduct product qualification testing and prepare test schedules, and reports  
•    Resolve issues related to quality or manufacturing
•    Must work with suppliers to find the best performing products while reducing costs

Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium- and heavy-duty truck parts sold under Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. Dynacraft has production facilities in Louisville, KY and McKinney, TX.

Qualifications

•    Previous experience with Pro-E or equivalent solid modeling systems
•    Excellent teamwork philosophy; including oral and written communications skills
•    Ability to be creative and find unique solutions to keep Dynacraft competitive in all product and service offerings while leveraging Dynacraft’s competitive advantages/core competencies to drive growth
•    Ability to manage multiple projects effectively, while meeting non-negotiable deadlines
•    Excellent interpersonal and customer skills
•    Attention to detail with a “big picture” focus  
•    Strong leadership skills, emphasizing continuous improvement
•    Demonstrated willingness to learn and make use of new engineering processes and techniques to solve complex technical problems
•    In depth Truck/automotive product knowledge desirable
•    Some travel required.

Education

  • Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university
  • Six Sigma training strongly desired
  • Project Management training strongly desired
  • 1 to 4 years of experience desired in a manufacturing environment
