Requisition Summary

Dynacraft Logistics Engineer reports to the Inventory Control Area Manager and is responsible for the study, analysis, development, improvement, and documentation of the plant material movement and storage.

The job also includes assistance with continuous improvement efforts focusing on departmental safety, quality enhancements, ergonomic improvement projects, line side inventory optimization, and improvements in overall material movement efficiency.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Study and analyze plant material movement processes recommendations for improvement.
  • Overall departmental efficiency and effectiveness improvements.
  • Eliminate roadblocks for Receiving and Production, audit processes against Standard Work, manage departmental training matrix and implement and support initiatives to improve training levels.
  • Conduct process and product audits and document results.
  • Develop, document, and maintain documents that define and standardize operations, including but not limited to JSS, SWI, OPL, Kaizen forms, and other process documents.
  • Assist in the maintenance of developed software programs (Visual Factory, EWI, etc.).
  • Support new manufacturing processes EV, DV, QV and VV builds.
  • Make recommendations for reducing product transportation time between the MSS and Dynacraft and efficiency improvements to reduced manufacturing costs.
  • Participate in FMEA, PCP, or PFMEA review discussion and be able to recommend process and/or system changes to enhance safety/productivity/quality.
  • Participate in corrective actions related to internal or external defects and track and report results of internal defect measurements.
  • Work with cross functional teams on various Projects and develop, implement, and sustain a Plan for Every Part.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to operate independently with little guidance while being a positive contributor to a team environment.
  • Must have excellent technical, verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills are required.
  • Must lead by example and have a proven record of excellence in attendance, dependability, and safety.
  • Must be self-motivated, well organized, flexible, and able to handle the pressure of a high-volume operation.
  • Computer literacy is required with a familiarity of MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • A minimum of three (3) years manufacturing, logistics and/or distribution experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate understanding of root cause and corrective action tools/methods.
  • Hands on ability and data analysis skills a plus.
  • Experience with SAP/RF/Operations preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Engineering or Business.
  • Six Sigma training is preferred.
