Requisition Summary

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Environmental Engineer will be responsible for oversight of the efficient, compliant, and safe mechanical and environmental operation of the plant facility. The Environmental Engineer will support plant operations by ensuring that all facility mechanical are repaired and maintained; recommends and oversees new construction and/or installation projects; and is responsible for the administration and implementation of ISO standards and relevant environmental regulations.

Division Information

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. Dynacraft performs assembly, light manufacturing and distribution for PACCAR truck plants and the aftermarket. For more than forty years, Dynacraft has provided high quality components, subassemblies and specialized services. Dynacraft’s manufacturing facilities are located in Louisville, KY and McKinney, TX.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the audits for recertification/surveillance of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Manages, tracks, and records compliance requirements per all Company and Federal, State and local regulatory standards.
  • Serve as liaison with City and State officials as required to ensure facility is compliant with current code regulations.
  • Documents and retains all regulatory agency correspondence per Document Retention Policy.
  • Responsible for proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials and waste. Trains, labels, stores, transports and disposes hazardous materials. Works with licensed vendors and ensure disposal of hazardous materials to licensed disposal facilities.
  • Conduct and coordinate third-party audits of facility and environmental systems. Report all unsafe or substandard conditions and/or environmental violations, make recommendations and oversee corrections.
  • Update and maintain environmental training materials and records.
  • Provide site-specific hazard awareness environmental training to employees. 
  • Participates in planning and forecasting facility needs for expansion and improvements.  Suggests improvements that will impact safety, quality and productivity.
  • Requests bids for services and makes recommendations for contractors based on qualifications and cost benefit.
  • Communicates with other departments on required support, facility impacted projects, and seasonal facility adjustments.
  • Orders repair work and manages and schedules maintenance services.  Supervises contractors performing work in the facility. Communicates issues and problems to the Facilities Manager and plant management team as needed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be able to operate independently with little guidance while being a positive contributor to a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, well organized, flexible and able to handle the pressure of a high-volume operation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products such as MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Experience in MS Access desired.
  • Detail oriented with strong verbal, and written communication skills.

Education

  • 4-year degree in Environmental, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline required.
  • Minimum of two years environmental management/auditing/assessment/control experience
  • Minimum of two years manufacturing and/or distribution experience.
  • One year or more of MRO and BPO experience desired.
  • Knowledge in SAP Warehouse Management preferred.
