Division Information

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. a suburb of Dallas. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium- and heavy-duty truck parts sold under Kenworth, Peterbilt, and OAF nameplates. For fifty years Dynacraft has provided the company's truck divisions and PACCAR Parts division with high quality components, subassemblies, and specialized services. Dynacraft has production facilities in Louisville, KY, and McKinney, TX.

Requisition Summary

Dynacraft is looking for a Quality Engineer to help support our Louisville facility. The Quality Engineer reports to the Division Quality Manager and will function as the primary plant resource to ensure that APQP is followed for product Launches and all Dynacraft and PACCAR standards are maintained. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is proactive, and has experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Function as a Quality Liaison with customers regarding Quality issues of Truck components
  • Investigate and perform Root Cause Analysis when Quality concerns are identified
  • Participate in engineering design reviews for new products and processes
  • Conduct dimensional inspection of PPAP sample components
  • Provide technical assistance and training to customers and internal personnel for understanding of PPAP, quality and assembly requirements
  • Lead and support (as required) foundational APQP documentation such as feasibility reviews, production control plans, PFMEA, safe Launch plans, etc.
  • Create and maintain PPAP files and documentation in support of PACCAR PPAP guidelines
  • Lead Statistical Process Control and Capability Studies on new and existing products
  • Provide analytical support to Dynacraft process owners regarding product/process quality issues
  • Identify and facilitate improvement initiatives utilizing customer/internal feedback to help identify opportunities to resolve quality/production issues

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Three years of automotive electrical experience at an OEM or Tier One supplier
  • High Voltage Cable / Battery Electrical Vehicle knowledge and experience
  • Experience with ISO 9000/9001/14000/14001, TS16949, or QS 9000 QMS's in a related capacity
  • Understanding of APQP and other Quality Management tools (PF, FMEA, CP)
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret GD&T, engineering drawings and specifications, and translate into part and process requirements
  • Must possess PC based computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Minitab or equivalent software
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate team efforts and work under minimal supervision
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical & Computer, or Battery/Energy Storage Engineering or related technical discipline
