Division Information

Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. a suburb of Dallas. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium- and heavy-duty truck parts sold under Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. For fifty years Dynacraft has provided the company’s truck divisions and PACCAR Parts division with high quality components, subassemblies, and specialized services. Dynacraft has production facilities in Louisville, KY, and McKinney, TX.

Requisition Summary

Dynacraft is Looking for a Quality Engineer to help support our Louisville, Ky facility. The Quality Engineer reports to the Plant Quality Manager and will function as the plant resource to ensure that product launches are completed on schedule and all Dynacraft and PACCAR quality standards are maintained. They will as monitor existing business at Dynacraft and 3PL. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is proactive, and has experience working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Function as a Quality Liaison with customers about products design for manufacturability.
  • Investigate and perform Root Cause Analysis when Quality concerns are identified.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews for new products, clarifying Quality requirements and identifying potential risks.
  • Support production of PPAP sample components
  • Provide technical assistance and training to employees for Quality related topics including understanding of PPAP requirements, Problem Solving/8D, and the assembly requirements.
  • Create, maintain and review (as required) the foundational documentation: feasibility reviews, production control plans, PFMEA, safe launch plans, etc.
  • Validate and monitor equipment using statistical methods including Statistical Process Control and Capability Studies on new and existing products.
  • Provide analytical support to Dynacraft process owners regarding product/process quality issues.
  • Identify and facilitate improvement initiatives utilizing customer/internal feedback to help identify opportunities to resolve quality/production issues.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with ISO 9000/9001/14000/14001, TS16949, or QS 9000 QMS's in a related capacity
  • Understanding of APQP and other Quality Management tools (FMEA, CP, PF)
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret GD&T, engineering drawings and specifications, and translate them into part and process requirements.
  • Must possess PC based computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiarity with Minitab or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate team efforts and work under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or other technical discipline
