REQUISITION SUMMARY

 

Within this team of highly talented strategic thinkers, you will find yourself defining PACCAR Powertrain’s regulatory strategy across conventional and zero-emissions products. This position will take a global approach and requires collaboration within a diverse cross-functional and multicultural team. PACCAR is expanding its product line of internal combustion and zero emissions powertrains and this is a chance to take a lead role in defining that plan.

This position is located at PACCAR’s Lewisville, Texas office near Dallas and includes the opportunity to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Understand CO2, criteria emissions, and ZEV regulations relevant to medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles in Europe and North America through published documents and interpreted guidance from the PACCAR compliance team.
  • Define and evaluate strategic product and business approaches for meeting regulations while competing strongly in the marketplace.
  • Develop and use preliminary emissions credit and financial forecasts to quantitatively evaluate strategic approaches.
  • Estimate regulatory-driven volumes in key segments.
  • Collaborate with product planners to align product strategy with regulatory strategy and credit forecasts. Ensure product requirements are aligned with regulatory strategy and support compliance needs.
  • Support the compliance team with strategy input to advise their interactions with regulatory agencies and legislators.
  • Support business case development and project initiation.
  • Provide written and verbal updates to local and global key stakeholders.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

 

  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical field such as Engineering or Mathematics with at least 3 years of relevant experience.  Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience building emissions credit, financial, and/or business/market models and using the results for optimization routines and sensitivity studies.
  • Experience reading and interpreting regulations.
  • Experience with competitive market analysis and strategy development.  Training in game theory, playing to win, or other formal strategic approaches is preferred.
  • Understanding of medium and/or heavy-duty commercial vehicle market and regulatory landscape preferred.
  • Comfortable proposing radical ideas and challenging the status quo, able to influence others to achieve a desired outcome.
  • Excellent work/time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-directed and resourceful with excellent analysis and engineering judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
