PACCAR Embedded Engineering

Job Summary
PACCAR’s Embedded Engineering department, which serves both Kenworth and Peterbilt, has an opening for an Embedded Systems Process Engineer. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing Software Quality team. Be a trailblazer and help establish new processes that will bring our Embedded Engineering team to the next level of productivity, quality, and compliance. Job Responsibilities
- Manage Process Improvement activities in support of achieving ASPICE goals for Embedded Engineering
- Lead the documentation and implementation of a quality auditing process for achieving and maintaining ASPICE Base Practices
- Responsible for Offshore and local Quality auditing team
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the Embedded Engineering organization regarding the interpretation and implementation of ASPICE Base Practices
- Manage Department Process and Procedures database
- Provide ASPICE Base Practices guidance to cross-functional organizations that work directly with Embedded Engineering
- Provide reporting for Process Improvement progress, including known risks and mitigation plans.
- Manage agreements with Third Party consultants for ASPICE process improvements and Requirement Management in relation to our Project Management toolchain (IBM Jazz Suite
- Develop strong relationships with the Engineering staff to facilitate communication and feedback
- Participate as a member of the Training team with user training material development and training for IBM Jazz Tool suite applications (DOORS Next, Rational Team Concert) and ASPICE compliance
- Become an ASPICE assessor to evaluate and develop Embedded Engineering capabilities
- Collaborate with international organizations to develop a global standard for software quality
Qualifications & Skills
- Required
- B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent required
- 5-7 years of experience with project management techniques and processes
- Experience with embedded systems development or related field
- Knowledge of software and electronic development processes
- Knowledge of V-Model and product life cycle principles
- Experience with Agile Development practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate independently and make decisions in ambiguous situations
- Experience with industry tools for requirements management, test management, and configuration management
- Working with software requirements specifications
- Strong computer skills including project management tools, word processing, flowchart/modeling, presentation, and spreadsheets
- Willingness to grow personally and professionally in a results-orientated environment.
- Able to learn and use new processes and techniques and resourcefully solve complex technical issues
- Preferred
- ASPICE certified Provisional or Competent assessor
- Background in an automotive environment
