REQUISITION SUMMARY

Within this team of highly talented strategic thinkers, you will find yourself researching external funding opportunities, developing networks of contacts within the green transportation eco-system, influencing funding-related government policy, and leading efforts to secure grants and other partnerships. Although the primary focus will be US opportunities, you will be part of a global cross-functional and multicultural team pursuing similar opportunities in PACCAR’s other markets.
PACCAR is eager to advance its product line of zero-emissions vehicles and this is a chance to form collaborations and develop the external funding opportunities that will make it happen. You will be a key part of ensuring PACCAR products not only meet the needs of customers but also those of the climate.
This position is located at PACCAR’s Lewisville, Texas office near Dallas and includes the opportunity to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to a greener transportation system by developing win-win partnerships that enable faster development, manufacturing, and deployment of zero-emissions trucks
- Stay abreast of the federal and regional grant funding landscape, track developing opportunities, and ensure readiness to act when they are realized.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of PACCAR’s zero emissions product roadmaps and support needs.
- Develop and maintain a network of potential collaborators including those from governments, non-profits, institutions, energy providers, infrastructure providers, etc.
- Participate in consortiums and initiatives that are likely to produce funding opportunities.
- Bring together internal and external resources to organize and manage funding application teams for specific opportunities. Manage the grant application process.
- Participate in government policy discussions.
- Provide written and verbal updates to local and global key stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, MBA preferred
- 3 years of relevant experience (grant writing or business development)
- 5 years in the industry-preferred
- Experience with business development and/or grant writing
- Experience bringing complex groups together to pursue business and/or funding opportunities
- A general understanding of the freight transportation eco-system and of the medium/heavy-duty commercial vehicle business
- Familiarity with applicable government legislation, rulemaking, and administration including the Federal Infrastructure and IRA Bills
- Familiarity with relevant industry players including institutions, energy providers, infrastructure providers, major fleet operators, non-profits, and key industry groups.
- Excellent work/time management and organizational skills
- Self-directed and resourceful with excellent business acumen
- Fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment by considering other perspectives and is ok being challenged
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
