Requisition Summary

PACCAR is seeking energetic, independent engineers with interest in creating, defining, and launching the next generation of industry-leading trucks.  Scope of work includes analysis of potential new product designs, evaluation of customer requirements, definition of vehicle and system-level targets, and validation of vehicle level improvements to ensure superior customer satisfaction.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-divisional Product Planning teams to identify, develop, and define project scope for advanced automotive technologies into PACCAR products.
  • Lead technical team responsible for defining vehicle level requirements, and translate these requirements to system and component design teams. (ex. fuel economy, drivability, ride and handling, diagnostics, connectivity, etc.)
  • Coordinate development of vehicle technology roadmaps for each vehicle property.
  • Champion roadmaps by building business plans and soliciting technologies with cross-functional teams for aligned program scope inclusion.
  • Host global workshops on property roadmap alignments and future plan ideation.
  • Build, maintain and utilize simulation models to design, document and communicate vehicle and powertrain performance requirements and technology benefits.
  • Champion system engineering approach for vehicle to system requirement definition.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required including international. 


Qualifications & Skills

  • BS in Engineering or related field required; MS in Engineering or related field and PE license preferred.
  • Understanding of designing, developing, and validating automotive technologies.
  • Prefer previous knowledge of systems engineering processes and familiarity of the V-model process.
  • Prefer IBM Doors requirements management experience
  • Understanding of Mathematical modeling systems such as: Mathworks Simulink/Stateflow/Matlab, AVL Cruise, GT Power, etc.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts or data in a simple yet accurate manner.
  • Requires independent judgment and effective decision making skills.

The salary range for Vehicle Properties Supervisor is $93,00-$145,500 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
