Kenworth Truck Company is the manufacturer of The World’s Best® heavy and medium duty trucks. Position Summary
Do you have technical aptitude, business process analysis experience, programming skills, and a passion for process improvement? The Kenworth Product Data Management group is looking to fill a key position responsible for the development and maintenance of PACCAR systems that support automated order validation to ensure custom truck orders meet corporate and division configuration and quality requirements. This role requires a leader that will drive projects in collaboration with multiple PACCAR divisions including Peterbilt, KenMex/Latin America, and Information Technology Division (ITD). Responsibilities include supporting the development, certification, and release of PACCAR products, and working with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and integrated solutions.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison between Engineering, the Plants, PACCAR Technical Center, and IT Division developers by:
- Converting design requests into application/system logic
- Communicating development needs
- Understanding the relationship between software changes and business processes
- Implement improvements that support business objectives
- Work with the Engineering change process to integrate new content
- Certify the outcome of program development efforts
- Create and maintain technical documents to define systems
Skills & Qualifications
- B.A./B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent degree required
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience required
- 3+ years of general truck knowledge desired
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to present technical information clearly and concisely to individuals of different backgrounds
- Demonstrated skill in building consensus within a team of technical and business staff
- Demonstrated skill-developing creative problem-solving approaches
- Organizational, scheduling, and reporting skills
- Advanced computer skills including Excel and Access strongly preferred
- Knowledge of relational database structure preferred
- Experience with SQL Server and Visual Studio preferred
- Programming experience preferred
- Experience with project management and software development methodologies preferred

The salary range for Vehicle Configuration Specialist is $80,800-$126,600 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
